The reservation allows you to select a Fast-Start feature, this feature helps to adjust the number of pre-loaded Virtual Machines during your reservation, as a percentage of the maximum CCU value you have set up:
Fast-start Off | Fast-Start On | |
One-time Reservation | 75% | 100% |
Recurring Reservation | 25% | 50% |
For instance, if you choose to create a recurring reservation for 100 maximum CCUs with Fast-start enabled, the number of pre-loaded VMs will be 50, until you reach your maximum number of CCUs.
Please note that when 100% of maximum CCUs are used by your application, there will not be any more preloaded machine.
When creating a reservation, the VMs starting time and your application loading time are not taken into account.
It means that the time you set as the starting time will be the moment when VMs and application start loading, so if you want them to be ready at a specific time, you will have to start your reservation a bit earlier, in order to be sure that your app is loaded.
Disclaimer: The Fast-start feature is a way to optimize application starting time based on traffic estimation.
The size of the application, the number of concurrent users and the users behavior might affect the feature and could result in a longer loading time for some users.
Please note that you can create two reservations for the same application on the same day, but only on different regions or by uploading the same application twice.
You can’t create two overlapping reservations for the same application.
